Sneijder hailed Mourinho out with tears in your eyes
A day after Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim watched his side's Champions League quarterfinal opponent, Real Madrid, beat Mallorca 5-2 at the Santiago Bernabeu, Jose Mourinho made a scouting trip to Turkey of his own. Mourinho's visit to see Galatasaray play Kayserispor was a friendly occasion from the start, as he was given a large bouquet of flowers (which he quickly handed off) after getting off his private jet with his son.
At Kayserispor's Kadir Has Stadium, that friendliness gave way to pure joy when Wesley Sneijder -- who scored in just the third minute of Galatasaray's 3-1 win -- spotted Mourinho in the stands during the match. Like a child finding his parents in the crowd during a school play, Sneijder smiled and waved to Mourinho, who returned the gesture with both hands. Though Sneijder credited Mourinho with telling him to sign with Galatasaray in January, the Dutch midfielder explained after the match that he hadn't seen his former manager since they won the Champions League final together at Inter in their treble winning season of 2010.
