Barca defending to World Player Lionel Messi sat in the quarter-final second leg of the Spanish Cup with league rivals FC Málaga through with 4:2 (1:1). In the first leg, Barcelona and Malaga had split 2:2. Now Barcelona travels early as Wednesday for arch-rivals Real with the German national Mesut Ozil and Sami Khedira. The second leg of the semi-finals take place on 27 February in Barcelona.
World and European champions Andres Iniesta (76th) and Messi (80) provided in Malaga with a double strike ultimately a deserved victory for Barcelona. Previously, the Catalans were by the new father Gerard Piqué (49) and Pedro (8) twice took the lead. But Joaquin (12) and former Bundesliga player Roque Santa Cruz (67) succeeded each equalized for the hosts.
